Myntra is India's largest fashion-focused marketplace, owned by Flipkart (and therefore Walmart). With 60 million+ registered users who skew urban, young, and fashion-conscious, Myntra is the premium channel for apparel, footwear, accessories, and beauty brands.

What makes Myntra different:

  • Curated marketplace: Myntra does not allow just anyone to list. You apply, and Myntra approves brands based on quality, originality, and category fit.
  • Higher average order value: ₹900–2,500 average, vs ₹600 on Flipkart and ₹400 on Meesho
  • Fashion-specific features: Virtual try-on, style guides, influencer campaigns, End of Reason Sale (India's biggest fashion sale event)
  • Stronger brand building: Myntra buyers develop brand loyalty — repeat purchase rates are high

Who Can Sell on Myntra?

Myntra accepts:

  • Established fashion brands with an existing product line
  • Emerging D2C brands with strong aesthetics and GST registration
  • Artisan and handcraft brands (Myntra has an active ethnic/craft vertical)
  • Beauty and personal care brands
  • Footwear brands

Myntra does NOT work well for:

  • Generic or unbranded products
  • Electronics (not their category)
  • Very low price-point products (below ₹300)
  • Products without proper labelling and packaging

How to Register as a Myntra Seller

The Myntra onboarding process is more rigorous than Amazon or Flipkart:

Documents required:

  • GST registration certificate
  • Trademark registration (preferred, not always mandatory)
  • Brand authorization letter (if you're a franchisee or authorized reseller)
  • Business bank account details
  • Cancelled cheque
  • PAN card of proprietor/director
  • Product catalogue with quality images

Application process:

1. Go to myntra.com/partner → Register as a brand/seller

2. Fill out the brand application form with business details

3. Upload your product catalogue

4. Myntra's category team reviews (typically 7–21 days)

5. If approved, you receive login credentials to Myntra Partner Portal

6. Complete catalog upload and pricing

7. First products typically go live in 2–4 weeks post-approval

Myntra rejects applications that don't meet their quality bar. If rejected, improve your product photography, brand story, and catalogue, then reapply.

Myntra Fulfillment Models

MFD (Myntra Fulfilled by Digitrove / Seller Fulfilled)

You dispatch orders from your own warehouse or 3PL. Myntra sends order notifications, you dispatch within 24–48 hours, and Myntra's courier partner (Ecom Express, Delhivery) picks up.

Requirements:

  • Pick-up infrastructure at your warehouse address
  • Dispatch within SLA (typically next day for orders before 3 PM)
  • Return processing capability

MFF (Myntra Fulfilled via Flipkart Fulfillment)

You send inventory to a Flipkart fulfillment centre. Myntra orders are fulfilled from there, similar to Amazon FBA.

Best for:

  • High-volume fashion brands (500+ units/month per style)
  • Brands wanting Fast Delivery badge (2-day delivery)

Myntra's Quality and Listing Standards

Myntra has significantly higher listing quality standards than Amazon or Flipkart:

Photography requirements:

  • Apparel must be shot on model (no flat lay for most categories)
  • White background is standard; lifestyle shots for some categories
  • Minimum 4 images per style
  • Images must be 1000x1333px minimum

Product information:

  • Detailed size charts (Myntra's buyers are very size-conscious — poor size guidance = high returns)
  • Fabric composition with % breakdown
  • Care instructions
  • Country of origin
  • Manufacturer / packer details

Brands that invest in Myntra-quality content see significantly better conversion.
